Analytical Chemist
About the role
Perform method development and validations to support efforts to expand existing assays for Illinois and develop assays for new markets.
Responsibilities
- Apply GMP in all areas of responsibility, as appropriate.
- Perform a large variety of analytical tasks for the validation of analytical methods used in the testing of products and raw materials using various procedures including HPLC and GC.
- Read, understand, and interpret diverse analytical procedures.
- Conduct analytical investigations.
- Troubleshoot instrumentation and communicate with vendors when required.
- Train and mentor junior staff in laboratory procedures.
- Manage and discuss projects with clients.
Requirements
- Expertise in chromatography and method validation.
- BS or MS degree in analytical chemistry or related field.
- BS and 4+ years of industry experience or MS and 2+ years of lab experience.
- 3+ years of industry experience with chromatography.
- 3+ years of experience with chromatographic validation in a GMP environment.
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written) and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude.
Qualifications
- Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies.
- Experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS), specifically QBench LIMS.
- Familiarity with calibration and certificates of analysis.
Skills

Pay
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $40.00/hr.
Schedule
Regular working hours are Monday to Friday, from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
