Responsibilities

  • Inbound Logistics Planning and Optimization: Analyze transportation and logistics data to support the development of logistics concepts for inbound materials from global suppliers. Identify opportunities to improve transportation efficiency and sustainability, implement measures, and assess their effectiveness.
  • Transportation Contract Management: Prepare, conduct, and implement logistics RFx activities, including writing and aligning RFIs, RFQs, RFPs, and SOWs. Collaborate with internal departments, 3PLs, and 4PLs.
  • Freight Cost Auditing: Develop, align, and implement processes for freight cost auditing.
  • IT System Setup: Represent business unit and technical requirements for the transportation management system to ensure timely rollout of functionalities.
  • Performance Metrics and Reporting: Develop and maintain transportation performance reports and dashboards. Analyze logistics KPIs and communicate findings to support operational decision-making. Identify opportunities for process and cost improvements.
  • Continuous Improvement: Implement strategies to enhance efficiency and compliance across all processes. Perform additional logistics planning tasks as needed based on individual skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field. Equivalent relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • 3+ years of professional experience in structuring, analyzing, and developing multimodal transportation network solutions, preferably at a North American Automotive OEM.
  • Professional experience with IT systems for truck transport routing, scheduling, inventory management, and reporting (SAP Transportation Management is a plus).
  • Practical experience leading logistics RFx activities (RFIs, RFQs, RFPs) for LTL, FTL, expedited, small-parcel transportation, warehousing, and crossdocking services.
  • Practical experience with freight cost auditing is a plus.
  • Professional experience with data analytics and visualization using BI tools like PowerBI is a plus.
  • Experience working with 3PLs, 4PLs, dedicated/asset-based transportation, and warehouse service providers, as well as knowledge of U.S. DOT regulations and the transportation industry is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and presentation skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with internal and external teams.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Creative, collaborative, and open mindset with a drive to think outside the box.

Location & Travel Expectations

This role is based at the Scout Motors location in Blythewood, South Carolina, and requires 4-5 days per week in the office. Regular in-person meetings and events are expected. Applicants should be prepared to travel occasionally for company events.

Pay

This is a full-time, exempt position eligible for a base salary and participation in an annual performance bonus program. The final salary will be determined based on skills and experience. The initial base salary range is $70,000.00 - $85,000.00.
