Analyst, Sector-Based & Specialized Lending - Project Finance

About the role
This is a front-office lending professional role. You will carry primary responsibility for key lending-transaction processes and assist a team of bankers that execute new lending deals. You will work closely with client relationship managers (Directors and Managing Directors) and sector experts to originate new transactions.
Responsibilities
- Support the origination efforts of ING’s sector bankers
- Participate in initial deal screening, selection, and risk analysis
- Perform due diligence and lead the internal credit-approval process on transactions
- Review financing documents and material project agreements, validating key terms and conditions
- Build, review, and maintain transaction models and internal risk-rating/return models
- Interface with Risk, Loan Operations, Treasury, Legal, clients, and co-lenders to coordinate loan closings
- Stay current on organizational operating policies and procedures (Risk, Legal, etc.) and ensure protocols are followed
- Coach and mentor junior team members to build their technical skills and market knowledge
Requirements
- 1+ years of relevant project or corporate finance experience, ideally in the North American renewables and power market
- Familiarity with project-finance structures (construction, operating, warehouse, holdco, tax equity, or other sector-specific structures)
- Understanding of GAAP accounting and core financial statements
- Strong financial and credit-analysis capabilities with the ability to work independently on transactions
- Strong financial-modeling skills
- Excellent presentation, written, and oral communication skills; detail-oriented and accurate
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with multiple competing priorities and strict deadlines
- Committed team player with self-motivation, strong execution skills, and high standards for quality, accuracy, and timeliness
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Deal credentials, including individual role and responsibilities
- Case study and modeling test may be required

Pay
Base salary range: $105,000–$115,000. This role is eligible for a discretionary bonus program.
