Analyst - Project Finance
About the role
The Project Finance Analyst is a key member of the growing Project Finance Americas team, responsible for helping to build a specialized sector financing business by structuring and executing prudent and profitable renewable energy project financing transactions and developing a high-quality client base. The PF Analyst will have exposure to a broad range of technologies (e.g., solar, wind, battery, data centers) as well as transaction structures (e.g., traditional project finance, equipment finance and portfolio financing). Responsibilities
- Evaluate financial models for renewable energy projects and other project finance transactions
- Understand key financing risks and recommend mitigants to alleviate such risks
- Review key project documents, including Power Purchase Agreements or Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Agreements
- Review financing agreements
- Assess transmission, market, independent engineering, appraisal, and insurance consultant reports
- Draft internal transaction documents and credit memos
- Participate in the management of transactions through the internal credit process, providing analysis, structuring support, and communication with credit, regional, and business line managers
- Support the management and monitoring of a loan portfolio, including expansions, refinancings, restructurings, and exits, informed by ongoing risk analysis
Requirements
- Strong passion for the renewable energy sector
- 2 years of energy/infrastructure project finance experience at a financial institution, credit rating agency, developer or related experience
- Proficient in PowerPoint and Excel
- Basic accounting
- Drive to learn quickly about new markets, technologies and financing structures
- Communication skills (oral and written)
- Auditing, building and manipulating cash flow models
- Ability to learn or prior experience with:
- Technical diligence of wind, solar and battery projects
- Credit Risk Assessment
- Renewable energy tax incentives
- Bank products in particular Project Finance, Interest Rate Risk management and Capital Markets
- Ability to travel regionally, up to 10%
- Legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis

Pay
Target Hiring Range: $100,000.00 - $140,000.00. This position is subject to the terms of Rabobank’s compensation plans and policies. The range is reflective of the desired primary physical work location and may be adjusted outside of the projected range based on geographical differentiation if the actual work location of the hired candidate differs from the desired primary location, or for other lawful reasons.
