About the role

Our Property Tax Analyst role blends valuation and cost accounting skills with analytical and problem-solving skills used in engineering. Analysts focus on real estate and personal property tax consulting services, including review and tracking of assessment notices, preliminary valuation and analysis, analyzing asset data for exemption opportunities, communicating with clients and taxing authorities, and monitoring administrative projects.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively communicate with team, clients, assessors, and taxing authorities.
  • Secure and audit tax statements (assessment notices, tax bills, etc.).
  • Learn, understand, and apply assessment rules, regulations, and appeals processes in multiple states and jurisdictions.
  • Learn, understand, and apply property tax exemption rules, regulations, and certification requirements for specialized client equipment and installations.
  • Learn, understand, and apply valuation techniques, including the three approaches to value in real and personal property appraisal.
  • Participate in training sessions and educational opportunities to learn about industry trends, valuation techniques, and assessment procedures.

Requirements

  • Completed Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field; alternatively, a completed Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline from an accredited university or college.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, work on multiple engagements, and manage rapidly changing assignments in a team environment.
  • Critical thinker with great attention to detail.
  • Computer proficiency and ability to maximize applications such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and other industry-specific applications.
  • Strong analytical, comprehension, and problem-solving skills, as well as strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience and strong personal integrity.
  • Ability to work effectively with senior professionals in an engagement team.
  • Demonstrated commitment to obtaining outstanding results.

Pay

Salary range for this role is $60,000 - $90,000 USD.
