What You'll Do

  • Help maintain and support the core information systems of the entire site (servers, network, telecommunications, security systems), ensuring seamless operations and data security
  • Knowledge of network design, topology, systems interface, and protocols to meet support requirements
  • Maintain network activity; troubleshoot servers, routers, switches, and telecommunications software and hardware; analyze network and system logs for security and performance issues
  • Support infrastructure activities including backups, business resiliency, disaster recovery, and business continuity; identify and resolve data center and network issues
  • Provide Level 1 help desk support via telephone, remote desktop, or in person; escalate and document issues as needed
  • Respond to, document, and resolve service tickets in ServiceNow; prioritize and escalate issues to ensure timely resolution
  • Provide IT support to terminal and small sites, including travel when required
  • Collaborate with Nutrien IT teams on infrastructure and cybersecurity initiatives at site
  • Provide application support for corporate and locally hosted applications
  • Participate in lifecycle management of desktops, peripherals, servers, network equipment, and printers
  • Participate in on-call rotation as required
  • Lift equipment up to 50 pounds as needed
  • Work in an industrial site environment with required PPE (FRC, hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, steel-toed shoes)
  • Maintain clean-shaven status when required for site entry

What You'll Bring

  • A two-year diploma or four-year degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent industry experience
  • Two+ years of IT related experience supporting a mining or industrial environment
  • Proficient in Windows systems administration (e.g., Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS), cloud services (Azure, Intune) and Office 365
  • Knowledge in administering and troubleshooting network infrastructure devices, including wireless access points, and security systems
  • Effective problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering exceptional customer service
  • Excellent written, oral, and telephone communication skills
  • Resourceful team player who excels at building trusting relationships with customers and colleagues
  • Comfortable working under challenging deadlines, multiple competing priorities and demonstrates a high-level of adaptability
  • Shows a willingness to ensure time is used productively and aligns with priorities
  • Ability to work effectively with end-users, gain their confidence, understand their technical and operational needs, and translate them into viable technical solutions
  • Maintains appropriate professional designations and up-to-date knowledge of current information technology techniques and tools
