About the role
We are seeking a recent or upcoming graduate for our Analyst position in our Chicago headquarters. This role involves financial and economic analysis to support the Acquisition & Disposition and Asset Management departments. You will work closely with the Accounting, Development, and Asset Management teams and participate in AMLI's 2-year Investment Analyst Program.
Responsibilities
- Aid in the initial screening of investment proposals, including preparing rental market surveys, rent roll analyses, acquisition models, investment memos, and investment committee presentations.
- Analyze and monitor the performance of the existing portfolio, including completing monthly model updates and economic forecasts.
- Assist with new investment underwriting and hold/sell analyses based on financial and macroeconomic factors.
- Support financial and market performance reporting to joint venture partners, including quarterly reports and the annual budget package.
- Assist with the annual preparation of the Investment Dashboard.
- Participate in cross-training opportunities in Business Intelligence, Property Management, Financial Reporting, Construction cost accounting and estimating, and Pricing Analysis.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, or Business Administration required.
- Experience in Real Estate/Asset Management and 0-2 years of experience in economics, finance, or related experience is preferred.
- Ability to analyze financial and other numerical data, assess trends, variances, and causes, and confidently report findings and recommendations to senior management.
- Advanced Microsoft Office Excel required.
- Strong interest in leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools (e.g., for data analysis, financial modeling support, market research, and workflow automation).
