Analyst – Investment Banking, Financial Sponsors Advisory (“FSA”)
Position Summary
Guggenheim Securities (“GS”) is seeking exceptional candidates to join its Financial Sponsors Advisory (“FSA”) team located in New York, NY. The FSA team is an integral part of the firm’s global Investment Banking practice, focusing on originating and executing private equity transactions across various industries and products, including M&A, Capital Structure Advisory (“CSA”), Equity Capital Markets (“ECM”), and Leveraged Finance & Debt Advisory, among others, as well as maintaining relationships with private equity clients and counterparties. The Analyst – Investment Banking, FSA will support senior bankers and deal teams in various execution, origination, and market analysis assignments across the firm.

Essential Job Functions
- Contribute to live deals and pitches across the GS platform, including the curation of potential acquirors and/or investors, leveraging deep client and market knowledge as well as pattern recognition
- Interact with senior bankers to prepare and contribute to the delivery of client presentations aimed at originating business and deepening relationships
- Analyze business fundamentals including review of company strengths and risks, strategic positioning, capitalization structure, and historical and projected financial performance – particularly from the lens of a financial sponsor
- Streamline processes by creating strategic frameworks, tools, and intellectual property to aid execution and business development activities of the firm
- Analyze market trends and synthesize thought-leadership materials, demonstrating FSA’s market expertise within the private equity ecosystem
- Develop meaningful client relationships
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in investment banking, accounting, consulting, private equity, hedge fund or corporate finance
- Working knowledge of MS Excel, MS Powerpoint and MS Word; familiarity with Pitchbook or other financial data providers is a plus
- Resourcefulness, intellectual curiosity, enthusiasm, and a genuine interest in finance and corporate advisory
- Significant level of maturity and the ability to work as a team interfacing with private equity investment professionals, company executives, and senior management
- Highly organized, with the initiative and ability to multitask and work with limited supervision as a member of a team
- Strong interpersonal skills required for client-facing activities
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Effective process management abilities
Basic Qualifications
- Requires a minimum of a Bachelor's degree
- Understanding of fundamental private equity, valuation, and accounting principles
- Core modeling and valuation experience
- SIE Exam, Series 79 and Series 63 must be acquired within 150 days of employment
Work Location
Currently, this role is expected to be in the New York office at least 4 days per week.
Pay
Annual base salary of $125,000. The base salary represents the anticipated base salary range for this position. Actual base salaries may vary depending on factors such as location and experience.
