Analyst, Financial Operations - Hybrid (Livonia, MI)
About the Role
Responsible for the data capture, analysis, and reporting of information to assist the Trinity Health leadership team in achieving operational efficiency. This role involves auditing department information, producing reports, and suggesting process improvements. Provides expertise in programs, services, and applications while supporting the Manager of Financial Operations with system-wide financial analyses, ministry financial support, month-end reporting, and special projects.
Implements improved reporting processes and offers finance expertise to support operational and stewardship goals. Plans, coordinates, and prepares business unit operating budgets, quarterly forecasts, and related variance analyses, including senior-level communications. Serves as a financial consultant and liaison between business unit operations teams, Trinity Health System Office, and ministry finance teams for monthly reporting, annual audits, intercompany balancing, annual plans, forecasts, and various monthly billing and accounting issues.
Assists in the financial evaluation of key business unit strategies and serves as a linkage between ministry and system finance. Independently pulls and analyzes data to support the Financial Operations department in developing presentations, reports, dashboards, and other tools to monitor progress of key metrics, trends, and initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Researches, collects, and analyzes information to identify opportunities, develop solutions, and lead resolution efforts.
- Collaborates on performance improvement activities to enhance program efficiency and patient experience.
- Responsible for the distribution of analytical reports.
- Utilizes multiple system applications to perform analysis, create reports, and develop educational materials.
- Incorporates knowledge of Trinity Health policies, practices, and processes to ensure quality, confidentiality, and safety.
- Demonstrates knowledge of departmental processes and procedures and acquires new knowledge as needed.
- Researches and compiles information to support ad-hoc operational projects and initiatives.
- Synthesizes and analyzes data, providing detailed summaries, graphical presentations, and practical recommendations while considering business strategy impacts.
- Leverages program and operational data to define and demonstrate progress, ROI, and impacts.
- Maintains working knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws/regulations, Trinity Health Integrity & Compliance Program, Code of Conduct, and other policies to ensure adherence.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- One (1) to three (3) years of industry or private industry finance experience.
Qualifications
- CPA certification and/or MBA (preferred).
- Experience with MS PowerQuery, PowerBI, and/or other Business Intelligence/Data Analytics tools.
