About the role
This is a 12-month contract role supporting grid operations by drafting switching requests and developing switch plans for the NSP territory. The position offers a pathway to permanent employment and direct collaboration with grid and control center teams.
Responsibilities
- Draft switching requests for grid work
- Coordinate with control center on schedule and approvals
- Develop switch plans for NSP territory
- Ensure compliance with safety tags and clearances
- Send plans for review and obtain approvals
- Schedule approved plans into operations calendar
- Hand off plans to control center and address follow-up questions
- Verify safe work practices during execution
- Collaborate with outage coordination and grid operations teams
- Manage documentation and communication with internal stakeholders
Requirements
- Distribution electrical system knowledge is required
- Utility industry experience is required
- Field experience (lineman or troubleman preferred)
- Understanding of switching procedures, safety tags, clearances, and grid operations
- Basic engineering or electrical theory knowledge
- Distribution background with mid-level technical exposure is preferred
Pay
$61 per hour W2
