SABG is hiring an Advanced Strategic Planning Analyst to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) in Huntsville, AL. The role includes day-to-day mission planning, operations, and administrative functions for the Program Executive for Decision Dominance Command and Control (DC) and Directorate Senior Leaders. Some telework is allowable as determined by the government supervisor and scheduling needs.

Must have or be able to obtain a Secret Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Support day-to-day mission planning, review, and analyze documentation for meetings, and review forums for daily operations, including analysis of MDS strategies, options, alternatives, and acquisition strategy efforts.
  • Provide analytical results and/or recommendations, including preparation for meetings or other events.
  • Prepare briefings, develop reports, and identify best practices for agency strategic planning.
  • Analyze, prepare, author, edit, and direct taskings on behalf of senior leadership and organizations.
  • Manage organizational Enterprise Task Management Software Solution (ETMS2) correspondence system, ensuring appropriate prioritization, tasking, and completion.
  • Coordinate with internal and external MDA elements to ensure taskings are accurate, timely, complete, and well understood.
  • Plan, facilitate, and conduct leadership executive-level off-site activities.
  • Support Executives, Senior Leadership, Execution, and Functional organizations with day-to-day operations and future planning.
  • Assist with defining an agency-level corporate approach to integrating organizational administrative processes and systems.
  • Conduct process and procedure reviews to identify existing administrative business practices requiring change.
  • Analyze results, develop strategic plans to execute changes, secure approval, and implement solutions using Microsoft Office 365, MDA portal, ETMS2, and other approved capabilities.
  • Recommend best practices and process improvements.
  • Plan, facilitate, analyze, and conduct organizational structure studies and assess capabilities organization-wide, providing results and recommendations.
  • Assist with detailed planning of complex management projects, issues, and initiatives.
  • Assist Program Executive with daily office operations and prioritization of events and staff actions.
  • Prepare Program Executive for daily events, meetings, conferences, and forums, including schedule confirmation, materials, transportation, and video-teleconferences.
  • Assist Directorate staff with daily office management and document control.
  • Review all documentation (e.g., correspondence, briefings, responses to inquiries, and talking points) requiring signature, providing advice, status, and recommendations.
  • Establish active liaison within the Agency network of executive officers to facilitate reviews, coordination, revisions, and decisions.

Requirements

  • BA/BS and 6 years’ experience in administrative/business field; AA and 8 years’ experience; or 15 years’ experience in administrative/business field.
  • 3+ years of direct experience supporting CEO-level military equivalent (Senior Executive Service (SES) or General/Flag Officer).
  • Demonstrated advanced capabilities executing day-to-day office operations and mission planning for senior executive-level leadership, including serving as an advisor and assisting with detailed planning of complex management projects.
  • Proficient in advanced analytical thinking and working in a team environment to develop corporate strategies, goals, and objectives, and brief recommendations to senior leaders.
  • Advanced experience planning, facilitating, and conducting executive-level activities.
  • Proficient in preparing, reviewing, and coordinating executive-level correspondence.
  • Proficient in government travel processes and systems.
  • Proficient in developing and maintaining schedules, including calendar synchronization of events and integration of activities for senior leaders.
  • Proficient in classified correspondence handling procedures.
  • Proficient in government task management systems.
  • Advanced experience planning, facilitating, and conducting organizational studies and presenting results to senior leaders.
  • Proficient in researching, reviewing, and preparing meeting support materials (e.g., briefings, papers, read-ahead documentation).
  • Experience with government time-management procedures and systems.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of record management processes.
  • High levels of communication (oral and written), interpersonal, organization, and presentation skills.
  • Advanced working knowledge, skills, and abilities using Microsoft Office and Adobe software suites.

Skills

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.

Physical Demands

Work Environment

  • Job duties performed in a manufacturing/office environment using standard office equipment such as computers, photocopiers, and telephones.
  • Noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
