Responsibilities

The primary focus of this position is to assist with project execution. Specific analytical tasks will include:

  • Historical and pro forma client company financial analysis
  • Public company peer group market analysis
  • Merger and acquisition market peer group analysis
  • Discounted cash flow analysis
  • Industry research
  • Report writing
  • Presentation preparation
  • Marketing support activities
  • Analysis and other such activities as deemed relevant to the firm's success

In addition, the Analyst may have opportunities to be involved in corporate marketing activities including pitch and proposal development, prospect company research and due diligence investigation, relevant financial and economic research, and sales presentations with prospective clients as directed.

Essential Role Activities

The Analyst role provides an opportunity for a motivated professional to be a key player in the execution of valuation and transaction opinion mandates while gaining significant experience from a talented, dedicated staff of professionals. As an Analyst you will:

  • Execute firm and practice area strategies
  • Develop as a team member in a functional area with a basic understanding of all Chartwell service lines
  • Develop relationships internally and with existing clients
  • Develop an understanding of and preparing high quality financial analyses and deliverables for senior review
  • Develop personal technical and professional skills
  • Learn and understand core technical skills
  • Communicate project related tasks and activities with clients and other project team members

Qualifications

The Analyst role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, and a successful candidate will possess the following characteristics:

  • Bachelor's degree required, related degree in finance, economics, or accounting
  • Strong analytical abilities and deep knowledge of accounting and corporate finance theories
  • Advanced experience in Excel with financial and cash flow modeling
  • Fundamental understanding of valuation theory, methodologies, and applications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with clients
  • Acute attention to detail and dedication to providing high-quality work products
  • Highly motivated with the ability to learn and problem solve in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong work ethic, organizational skills, and ability to multitask

Ideal Candidate

An ideal candidate will have an entrepreneurial and independent mindset in order to operate in a tight-knit office within Chartwell's national practice. The Analyst should be a self-starter comfortable with working in a variety of environments, including various team sizes and involvement with different Chartwell offices.
