AMO Physicist | Remote

Type: Hourly contract
Location: Remote
Commitment: 10-40 hrs/week

Responsibilities

• Provide subject matter expertise in atomic, molecular, and optical (AMO) physics and the optical properties of materials.
• Review and analyze ab initio configuration interaction methods for polarizability calculations.
• Evaluate and provide guidance on atomic-structure calculations for Yb-171 and Yb-174 isotopes.
• Identify and explain sigma and pi transitions in atomic spectra using established physical principles.
• Participate in AI interviews and provide clear, technically accurate explanations based on legally shareable research and experience.
• Communicate complex scientific concepts effectively to support AI model development.
• Contribute domain expertise to improve the quality of AI training data.

Requirements

• Advanced expertise in AMO physics or optical properties of materials.
• Experience with ab initio configuration interaction methods for polarizability calculations.
• Strong knowledge of atomic-structure calculations for Yb-171 and Yb-174.
• Ability to identify and explain sigma versus pi transitions in atomic systems.
• Excellent analytical, scientific, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Advanced degree (MS, PhD, or equivalent experience) in Physics or a related field.

Pay

$80-$160/hr
