Ammonia Refrigeration Maintenance Technician I- 1st and 2nd Shift

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and maintain industrial ammonia refrigeration systems supporting high-volume food production
• Perform maintenance on high-pressure boilers, air compressors, and air handlers
• Service HVAC and refrigeration equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operations
• Troubleshoot mechanical and refrigeration issues to minimize downtime
• Follow and enforce IIAR, OSHA, and plant safety procedures
• Perform work duties without supervision and report them to supervisor
• Recognize when the refrigeration system is out of parameters and take corrective action to fix the issue
• Background in low voltage, 480 volt electric, and troubleshooting AC & DC drives
• Welding and fabrication, full understanding of 3-phase electrical and motor controls

Requirements

• Completed or working on a 2-year trades degree and/or 4 years of plant maintenance experience
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must be 18 years of age
• Able to read, write, and speak English (bilingual capabilities are a plus)
• Able to communicate and take direction from Sanitation Manager and effectively with line workers, Leads, Supervisors, and Plant Manager
• Attention to detail and legible record-keeping/data entry skills
• Highly motivated, flexible, and creative problem-solving abilities
• Able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

• Manufacturing environment with exposure to machines, noise levels, and varying temperatures (may be very warm or refrigerated depending on location)
• Team environment requiring respectful and professional communication
• Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 60 pounds
• May be required to work weekend and night hours to fill in as needed

Pay

Starting pay: $34.45 - $45/hr. A shift differential is offered for 3rd shift opportunities.
