AML/EDD Analyst

About the Opportunity

An established financial services organization is seeking an AML/EDD Analyst in Charlotte, NC or Detroit, MI. This hybrid role supports complex anti‑money laundering and enhanced due diligence investigations, helping maintain compliance through detailed research, documentation, and case analysis.

Schedule

• Monday to Friday
• Standard business hours
• Hybrid setting – at least three days per week onsite
• Locations: Charlotte, North Carolina or Detroit, Michigan

Responsibilities

• Conduct AML investigations in line with established policies, procedures, and risk philosophy
• Perform enhanced due diligence reviews using internal risk reports, negative news, public records, and other research tools
• Complete background investigations as required
• Prepare accurate narratives and supporting documentation for investigative findings
• Research accounts and transactions, identify trends, escalate non‑standard issues, and meet daily production expectations

Qualifications

• 1+ year of financial crimes compliance experience
• Bachelor's degree or related work experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to prioritize workload, balance multiple duties, and work in a fast‑paced environment
• Ability to work independently and cooperatively on project teams

Desired Skills

• Knowledge of BSA, the Patriot Act, U.S. Treasury AML guidelines, OFAC requirements, and Suspicious Activity Reporting requirements
• Experience with account and transaction research, compliance reporting, and investigative narrative writing
• Familiarity with regulatory developments and compliance publications
• Strong judgment, discretion, and a proactive, self‑directed work style
