AMFT / ACSW - Therapist - SUD Outpatient

Basic Function

Work as part of a cross-disciplinary team and deliver direct clinical services to individuals with a primary SUD and co-occurring disorder.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct, at minimum, 20 hours per week of individual, family, and / or group counseling sessions.
  • Assist in the development of Behavioral Wellness / Safety Plans for high-risk clients.
  • Participate in case conferences and treatment planning and clinical discussions in order to provide holistic, person-centered care and quality assessments.
  • Maintain accurate records by documenting, in various electronic systems, client interactions in accordance with guidelines established by CRI-Help, Inc., satisfying internal and external requirements.
  • Maintain client records according to HIPAA and 42 CFR, adhering to all participant confidentiality requirements and standards.
  • Attend staff and agency meetings, and participate in agency-wide trainings as required.
  • Understand and apply State and County requirements per Title 22, Title 9, and the SAPC DMC Provider Manual.
  • Comply with all agency policies and procedures.
  • Provide administrative assistance to clinical staff by reviewing and finalizing ASAM Assessments and Treatment Plans / Problem Lists, while working in collaboration with clinical staff to determine medical necessity.
  • Complete other tasks as assigned by the Clinical Director.

Skills / Knowledge

  • Highly organized.
  • Knowledge of the 12-Steps.
  • Knowledge of CBT, DBT, MI, and trauma-based therapy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent documentation skills.
  • Proficient in Outlook, Excel and Word.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Able to work effectively within a team structure.

Education / Training

  • Must be registered as an AMFT or ASW.
  • Must have a Master’s degree from an accredited university in social work, psychology, or a related field.
  • Must continuously comply with all board requirements, including registration renewal.

Experience

  • Minimum three years of working with acute Substance Use Disorder, psychiatric issues, and co-occurring disorders in a residential or outpatient setting.
  • Extensive knowledge of integrated behavioral health, mental health recovery, age-specific growth and development.
  • Experience with crisis management and behavior management.
  • Understanding and compliance with HIPAA regulations, policies and behavioral health standards.
  • Able to conduct brief, evidence-based and developmentally appropriate screenings, and to conduct and / or arrange for more detailed assessments as indicated.
  • (Must be able to screen for risky, harmful or dependent use of substances, cognitive impairment, mental health problems, health-compromising behaviors, harm to self or others, and abuse, neglect, domestic violence, etc.)

Working Conditions

  • Frequently remain in stationary positions, standing and / or sitting for prolonged periods.
  • Occasionally crouching below the waist and / or reaching above the shoulders.
  • Occasionally lifting and / or moving objects up to 20 lbs.

Special Conditions

  • Must be willing to undergo random drug screenings.

$70,304 - $75,000 / Year
