Job Summary
At Kolmac Integrated Behavioral Health and Concerted Care Group (CCG), we are seeking a compassionate and skilled Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Therapist to join our Towson, MD team. The ideal candidate will build genuine, collaborative treatment alliances with patients, facilitate addiction treatment groups, and deliver engaging addiction and recovery education presentations.
About the Role
As part of our team, you will be responsible for building treatment alliances, conducting assessments, case management, discharge planning, and coordinating with referral sources and other providers. You will also partner with the treatment team to address co-occurring psychiatric needs and maintain clear, timely clinical documentation.
Responsibilities
- Build genuine, collaborative treatment alliances with patients, adapting to their evolving clinical needs
- Facilitate addiction treatment groups at the IOP and OP levels of care
- Deliver engaging addiction and recovery education presentations
- Conduct assessments, case management, discharge planning, and coordinate with referral sources and other providers
- Partner with the treatment team to address co-occurring psychiatric needs
- Complete evaluations for substance use disorders using DSM-5 and ASAM criteria
- Maintain clear, timely clinical documentation that meets state and CARF standards
- Track and contribute to measurable outcomes — retention, attendance, program completion, and treatment goal achievement
- Share on-call coverage on a rotating basis (about one week, a few times per year) to support patients in crisis
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in the SUD field (group treatment experience a plus, not required)
- Strong clinical, verbal, and written communication skills
- Comfort working in an electronic medical record system
- Familiarity with a range of recovery modalities — 12-Step, SMART Recovery, Harm Reduction, Recovery Dharma, Women for Sobriety, and more
- A flexible, creative, team-first mindset, ready to grow with an expanding program
- If in personal recovery: minimum of 3 years continuous sobriety required (5+ preferred)
Qualifications
- CSC-AD, CAC-AD, LGADC, LGPC, LMSW, LCADC, LCSW, or LCSW-C (Maryland) credential
