AmeriCorps Reading Tutor

Selecting this position commits you to serving as a Joyful Readers tutor in Philadelphia, Monday through Friday, 8 hours a day, from September 1st through May 28, 2027.

Requirements

• You must be a citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident of the United States.
• You must be at least 18 years old by August 15, 2026.
• You must have completed high school or obtained a GED by August 15, 2026.
• You must have successfully completed at least one term in an AmeriCorps national service program.

Qualifications

• A thorough criminal background check is required, including an FBI fingerprint search.
• Individuals with a criminal record will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
• Convicted murderers and individuals registered on a sex offender registry are not eligible for a Joyful Readers tutor position.
