About the role
The AmeriCorps Public Health program is an 11-month commitment that starts on September 1st, 2026, ending on August 3rd, 2027. Applications close on August 2nd, 2026.
Responsibilities
- Conduct community outreach to improve access to primary medical and dental care.
- Provide health education on a variety of topics to patients and the community.
- Enroll people into Medicaid and affordable insurance.
Requirements
- A car, or a reliable source of transportation is highly recommended. Some sites are near NJ Transit lines.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is highly preferred but not required.
- Commitment to the entire duration of the program.
- Out-of-state members are welcome!
Qualifications
- Leadership, teamwork, and public speaking skills.
- Experience in medicine, public health, and social services.
- Access to a wide network of highly skilled providers.
Skills
- Community outreach skills.
