American Red Cross Disaster Action Team Coordinator - Amarillo, TX

About the role

The Disaster Action Team (DAT) Coordinator will assist in leading chapter/territory DAT activities by providing administrative support to the DAT program. Also, works with other chapter/territory leadership to define and articulate the overall strategy for the Disaster Action Team program.

Responsibilities

• Ensures DAT members/trainees receive timely orientations and onboarding into the DAT program.
• Oversees the promotion of DAT members from one level to the next.
• Affords assistance to DAT Manager/DAT Supervisors with coordination and scheduling of regular DAT meetings and training.
• Where appropriate, maintains access to and ability to use the Client Assistance System (CAS) to run necessary reports.
• Ensures procedures for issuing and maintaining CACs is understood and observed by DAT members.
• Provides support to and ensures DAT members have resources needed to perform their job.
• Ensures that regional and national guidance is widely communicated and observed.

Requirements

Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• Experience working with volunteers and/or disaster response teams.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Knowledge of disaster management principles and practices.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
