About the Role
The Clinical Nurse Coordinator supervises outpatient clinical and administrative activities, ensuring efficient patient care and team coordination. They develop and implement policies, procedures, and budgets to optimize outpatient services.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and delegate patient care and clerical duties to nursing and ancillary staff, ensuring quality outcomes.
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, document health histories, and provide tailored discharge planning and education.
- Administer medications following policies, monitor lab values, and manage medication interactions.
- Schedule, train, evaluate, and discipline staff; coordinate staffing to meet patient volume demands.
- Collaborate on budget development, ensure adherence, process purchase orders, and analyze financial data.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate policies, quality assurance, and continuous improvement programs.
- Serve as a clinical resource, evaluate new equipment and procedures, and provide staff education.
- Act as a role model to foster clinical competence and a positive work environment.
Requirements
- Associate's Degree in Nursing.
- Current Registered Nurse license in the applicable state.
- Minimum of two years recent clinical experience in a related specialty.
Skills
- Leadership experience preferred.
