About the role

As a Strategic Project Manager, you will lead the successful implementation of Waystar solutions, guiding both the internal team and the client project team. Your engagement spans from the sales transition to implementation, through to production, and the final handoff to Waystar’s Enterprise Support Team. You will develop deep expertise in Waystar’s business, industry, and operations, with a focus on healthcare-specific billing requirements, reimbursement, enrollment, and patient billing and payments. This role offers the opportunity to work with some of the largest and most prestigious healthcare enterprise organizations in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage all aspects of project implementation, including product solutions and associated revenue.
  • Understand and support client project success criteria and goals.
  • Define and communicate project plan updates to the Waystar team and client project manager.
  • Manage project status, issue lists, and risk management reporting.
  • Act as the primary contact for the client regarding project and milestone issues.
  • Coordinate Waystar project team resources and deliverables.
  • Deliver monthly internal project status reports.
  • Coordinate monthly strategic review sessions with the client and Waystar leadership.
  • Document client setup information and specifics for the Transition Document.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned by management within the area of responsibility.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • Exceptional critical thinking and analytical skills.
  • Healthcare billing or healthcare operations experience, preferably with institutional and provider billing knowledge.
  • Project management experience working with large healthcare organizations is preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to juggle multiple projects concurrently.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; must be able to clearly and effectively communicate implementation results with team members, clients, and vendor partners.
