Ambulatory Laboratory Supervisor

Job Overview

This position is responsible for the supervision of various laboratory and support teams delivering high-quality outpatient diagnostic services across multiple disciplines. Key responsibilities include organizing and directing workflow, evaluating employee performance, ensuring high quality laboratory results, managing budget, and interacting with customers.

Job Responsibilities

• Evaluates employees' work performance and ensures productivity.
• Responsible for staffing budget.
• Ensures high quality laboratory results regarding accuracy, precision, and service.
• Maintains high employee morale through effective management.
• Utilizes team building techniques to problem solve and improve sections.
• Works with staff to identify and attain career goals, reinforcing positive performance, delegating responsibility, and promoting timely and essential communications.
• Interviews, disciplines, hires, and recommends terminations.
• Holds responsibility and authority for decision making and problem solving.
• Manages overall laboratory in absence of director.
• Other related information includes working conditions, leadership performance standards, and job keywords.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree
• Graduate of an approved MLS program
• MLS from American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP)
• 3-4 years’ experience in Technical Clinical Laboratory
