Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and dedicated Ambulatory Driver to provide safe and efficient transportation services for patients to and from medical appointments. The ideal candidate will possess excellent driving skills, a strong commitment to customer service, and the ability to assist individuals with varying mobility needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely transport patients to and from medical appointments in a timely manner.
- Assist patients with boarding and disembarking from the vehicle, ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Maintain a clean and well-functioning vehicle, performing routine inspections and reporting any maintenance needs.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while ensuring the safety of passengers.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare staff to coordinate transportation needs.
- Document transportation activities and maintain accurate records as required.
Requirements
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Previous experience in a driving or transportation role preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to assist individuals with mobility challenges.
- Knowledge of local roads and traffic patterns.
- Basic first aid and CPR certification is a plus.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
- Valid Class E driver's license with a clean driving record
- High school diploma or equivalent
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred
- Ability to pass a physical examination and drug screening
- Familiarity with GPS and navigation systems
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Flexible schedule
- Knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance and safety protocols
- Experience in healthcare or patient transport (preferred)
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations

- Ability to document transport details accurately and submit reports as required
Benefits
- Normal Working Conditions: This position requires the Medical Transportation Assistant to be a passenger in a moving vehicle for the majority of the time. While the vehicle provides some protection from weather and elements, frequent exposure to all elements of weather such as wind, rain, snow, and high heat and humidity are common. Additionally, exposure to bodily fluids should be expected.
