Ambulatory Care Registered Nurse - Neurosurgery

About the Role

The Ambulatory Care Registered Nurse plays a key role in supporting the efficient flow of patient care within a busy neurointerventional surgery (NIS) practice. This position is responsible for coordinating the movement of new patients through the practice, triaging incoming patient calls for NIS physicians, and responding appropriately to ensure timely, high-quality care. In addition to core care coordination duties, this role provides dedicated support for the practice's Focused Ultrasound (FUS) Program, guiding patients through each step of the care process, from initial evaluation through treatment and follow-up, to ensure a smooth, well-coordinated patient experience.

The Ambulatory Care Registered Nurse works closely with neurointerventionalists and other providers to support coordinated, interdisciplinary patient care, ensuring continuity across the treatment process. This role also includes administrative responsibilities related to outpatient care coordination, helping to streamline communication between patients, providers, and support staff.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the flow of new patients through the practice
• Triage incoming patient phone calls for neurointerventional physicians and respond appropriately
• Assist with and support the Focused Ultrasound (FUS) Program, guiding patients through each stage of the care process
• Collaborate with neurointerventionalists and other providers to ensure seamless, coordinated patient care
• Support high-quality clinical outcomes through close partnership with the neurointerventional team
• Perform administrative tasks related to outpatient patient coordination
• Facilitate interdisciplinary communication to support comprehensive patient care
• Utilize a collaborative process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to engage, educate, promote, and maintain optimal health status of assigned patients
• Function in a collaborative partnership with the patient, physician, and the care team in an ambulatory care setting
• Serve in an advocacy role to ensure the delivery of quality, efficient, and cost-effective patient centered health care services
• Perform other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's Degree, Associate's Degree, or diploma in Nursing from an accredited institution
• Current Maryland licensure or eligibility to obtain Maryland licensure
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Two to three years clinical experience preferred
• CPR certification is required
