Ambulance Care Assistant

About the role

Bristol Ambulance (Part of EMED Group) have a fantastic opportunity for Ambulance Care Assistants to join their team based in Bristol (BS2).

Responsibilities

• Helping someone in need by driving patients to and from medical appointments and between healthcare facilities.
• Working with a colleague or independently, holding a full UK manual driving licence and having a good degree of physical fitness for manual handling.
• Transporting 'end of life' patients, ensuring a high level of empathy is present at all times.
• Assisting in the transportation of patients from beds to stretchers, chairs to chairs or similar both in and out of hospital and medical settings.
• Ensuring the ambulance is kept safe, clean and tidy.

Requirements

• A full UK manual driving license (held for minimum 12 months if over 21, or 24 months if under 21).
• Flexibility to work shifts (12hrs - 4 on 4 off).
• Experience in Care (HCA, Support worker, etc) - advantageous.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work well in a team and independently.
• Physical fitness to assist patients with mobility needs.
