About the role
Bristol Ambulance (Part of EMED Group) have a fantastic opportunity for Ambulance Care Assistants to join their team based in Bristol (BS2).
Responsibilities
- Helping someone in need by driving patients to and from medical appointments and between healthcare facilities.
- Working with a colleague or independently, holding a full UK manual driving licence and having a good degree of physical fitness for manual handling.
- Transporting 'end of life' patients, ensuring a high level of empathy is present at all times.
- Assisting in the transportation of patients from beds to stretchers, chairs to chairs or similar both in and out of hospital and medical settings.
- Ensuring the ambulance is kept safe, clean and tidy.
Requirements
- A full UK manual driving license (held for minimum 12 months if over 21, or 24 months if under 21).
- Flexibility to work shifts (12hrs - 4 on 4 off).
- Experience in Care (HCA, Support worker, etc) - advantageous.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work well in a team and independently.
- Physical fitness to assist patients with mobility needs.
