Care Assistant

About the role

Location: Reading, Maidenhead & Windsor (also serving Wokingham, Bracknell). Contract type: Care Delivery. Bluebird Care – Where you change lives. We’re the leading Home Care provider, proud of our work and looking for a caring and dedicated Care Assistant to join our Care Team and help us set the standard. You’ll support people in all aspects of daily living, working independently or as part of a supportive team, bringing purpose and dignity to someone’s life while delivering the best quality care.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality care tailored to each person’s individual needs
• Assist with personal care (e.g. bathing, dressing, grooming)
• Help with meal prepping, preparation and nutrition
• Support with medication, prescriptions and safe disposal
• Carry out light housework like tidying, laundry and general cleaning
• Be a dependable, friendly, familiar face for all the customers you care for

Pay

£13.75 per hour on weekdays (£13.50 per hour during probation); £14.75 per hour on weekends (£14.50 per hour during probation); £20.63 per hour on bank holidays (£20.25 per hour during probation). Overall range: £13.50 – £20.25 per hour.

Requirements

• Available to work 4 days per week, including every other weekend
• Flexible to work a variety of shifts, including 7:00am–2:00pm and 2:00pm–10:00pm
• Able to travel and work across all five service areas
• In possession of a full UK driving licence and access to a reliable vehicle
• Able to demonstrate an existing right to work in the UK (no sponsorship or visa transfers)
• Previous healthcare assistant experience is beneficial but not required; full training will be provided
