About the role
As an Ambassador at Carriage Services, you'll perform a variety of tasks during the funeral and memorialization process and assist Funeral Directors and other location staff to ensure services run smoothly. Your role is key to exceeding the expectations of our client families and their guests.
Responsibilities
- Actively serve as an ambassador of the business in the community to build trust and loyalty.
- Greet and direct client families and their guests at the funeral home.
- Escort client families and their guests to the correct chapel or parlor for services.
- Direct visitors to the guest book and distribute memorialization materials as needed.
- Answer questions and assist with serving the needs of client families, their guests, and other visitors during visitations and memorialization events.
- Represent the business in a professional and caring manner, maintaining a professional appearance and employing honesty, integrity, and ethical methods.
- Receive and place flowers in chapels or parlors.
- Ensure refreshments are available to client families and their guests.
- Prepare public spaces such as parlors, chapels, and reception/rest areas prior to scheduled services.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Demonstrated willingness to participate in growing market share through personal community involvement.
- Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
- Ability to empathize with client families and their guests and demonstrate tact and patience in emotionally charged situations.
- Ability to actively respond to the requests of client families and their guests.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
- Duties are generally performed in an indoor office setting, with some outdoor tasks that may expose you to natural elements such as inclement weather, extreme temperatures, uneven ground, dust, gas, and/or fumes.
- Must have sufficient strength and manual dexterity and comply with the Company’s safety procedures, including wearing personal protective equipment as required.
- Regularly required to climb, sit, stand, bend, kneel, and frequently lift up to 75 pounds (may be required to lift up to 100 pounds).
- Duties may require power reaching, pushing, and pulling.
- Routine exposure to chemicals and/or bloodborne pathogens.
- Must be able to drive a company vehicle, maintain a good driving record, and be insurable under company vehicle insurance.
