About the role
Amazon Industrial Robotics is seeking talented individuals to contribute to the development of advanced robotics systems that will transform automation at Amazon’s scale. Responsibilities
- Contribute to research that bridges the gap between theoretical advancement and practical implementation in robotics.
- Develop and test system prototypes that enable unprecedented generalization across diverse tasks.
- Work on collaborative and cross-functional teams to drive projects from research concept to working prototype.
- Develop and implement algorithms for motion planning, autonomous navigation, and software for robotic systems.
- Collaborate with mechanical engineers to integrate mechanical intelligence, multi-modal sensor feedback, and advanced control techniques.
- Present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of relevant academic research or industry experience within Robotics, Manipulation, Dexterous Manipulation, Locomotion, Human-Robot Interaction, Controls, Mechanical Design, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Optimization, Perception, Motion Planning, Autonomous Navigation, Software (high-level and embedded) for robotic systems, or related.
- Publication(s) at top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journals.
- Experience programming in Java, C++, Python, or related.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a PhD program in Computer Science, Robotics, Engineering, Machine Learning, Operations Research, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
- Must be eligible for and available for full-time (40 hours per week) internship in person based out of the assigned office location for the whole duration of the internship/co-op.
- Are 18 years of age or older.
Skills
- Strong algorithm development experience.
- A working knowledge of analysis of algorithms and computational complexity.
- Familiarity with state-of-the-art algorithms in field of expertise.
- Excellent creative problem-solving skills.

Pay
The base pay for this position ranges from $65.38/hr in our lowest geographic market up to $107.40/hr in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
Schedule
This role requires an in-person internship or co-op based out of the assigned office location for the whole duration of the internship/co-op.
