About the role
The AM Production Line Lead is responsible for overseeing the production process, managing a team, ensuring quality and safety, and solving problems to maintain optimal line performance.
Responsibilities
- Overseeing production from start to finish, meeting production targets and deadlines.
- Maintaining production line performance, identifying and addressing areas for improvement.
- Leading and motivating the production team, assigning tasks, providing training, and resolving conflicts.
- Implementing and maintaining quality control standards, inspecting products, and resolving quality issues.
- Troubleshooting production line issues and equipment malfunctions, developing and implementing solutions to improve efficiency and productivity.
- Ensuring a safe working environment, enforcing safety regulations, conducting safety inspections, and addressing hazards.
- Maintaining inventory levels, communicating shortages, managing stock rotation, and preventing product waste.
- Collecting and analyzing production data, preparing reports on production performance, quality metrics, and safety incidents.
- Identifying equipment repair needs, filing work orders, and coordinating repairs.
- Identifying opportunities to improve production processes, implementing process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
- Communicating effectively with team members, supervisors, and other departments, providing regular updates on production status and performance.
Requirements
- High School Education / G.E.D. preferred or applicable certification.
- Working knowledge of basic produce standards and customer fresh wrap specifications.
- Versatility in using hands for simple, firm grasping, standing for long periods, bending, stooping, reaching, lifting up to 50 pounds, and occasionally pushing, pulling, and walking.
- Constant exposure to temperatures of 45 degrees or less, chemical exposures such as chlorine, and product fumes such as onions and peppers.
- Ability to use small to large cutting utensils (knives, peelers).
- Verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic mathematical abilities.
