Responsibilities
- Identify and select ingredients
- Prepare and mix dough, cookies, pies, pastries and confections
- Mix a variety of items, including breads, while adhering to a predetermined mix schedule
- Assist the pastry and bread teams with shaping, baking and scaling
Requirements
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience successfully working in a high-volume pastry production, banquet production kitchen (or similar environment)
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts
- Weekend availability is a must
- Must be able to stand for 8+ hours per production shift/day
- Must be available to work day and late afternoons during the week, weekend, and holidays, as needed
Qualifications
- Ability or a willingness to learn to operate bakery manufacturing equipment such as deck ovens, proofers, rack ovens, fryers, etc.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, high-volume production bakery
- Maintains the highest standards of product quality
- Communicates professionally, both in writing and verbally, with all bakery clients
Skills
- Passion for baking with a keen eye for freshness, quality and cleanliness
- Able to work independently and with a team
