Responsibilities
- Hold and maintain applicable certifications: Food Handler, Alcohol Awareness, CPR and First Aid, ServSafe, and any required certifications
- Set up, stock, and organize work station and levels for production of food items
- Prepare (thaw, cut, machine) food items according to menu standards, portion, and store them in properly labeled containers
- Use kitchen tools and equipment including knives, measuring utensils, scales, kitchen shears, slicers, mixers, steamers, grills, ovens, and others
- Check stock levels in coolers for sufficient supply, report shortages, and order as needed using FIFO method
- Prepare broiled, baked, grilled, steamed, sautéed, blended, and fried items using recipes
- Know cooking times and temperatures for all items to ensure proper cooking methods, temperatures, and highest quality
- Plate food according to standard plating menu with garnishments and food quantities
- Perform side duties including cleaning, inventory, and organizing
- Maintain composure and objectivity under stressful, high-pressure situations
Requirements
- Minimum two years of experience in hotels, restaurants, or related fields
- Prior Line Cook, Quick Order Cook, Banquet Cook, or similar experience preferred
- Certifications as required by Federal, State, or Local agencies
- Minimum High School diploma, GED, or equivalent
