About the role

Le Méridien Chicago - Oakbrook Center is situated near the Oak Brook Shopping Center in Oak Brook, Illinois. Guests can easily access various attractions in Chicago, such as Drury Lane Theatre, Elmhurst Art Museum, and downtown.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food items in accordance with production requirements and quality standards while maintaining a safe, sanitary work environment for El Tapeo Restaurant on the 9th floor of the hotel.
• Prepare food of consistent quality following recipe cards and production and portion standards, per check from servers, date all food containers and rotate as per Crescent standards, ensuring all perishables are kept at proper temperatures, check pars for shift use, determine necessary preparation, freezer pull and line set up.
• Note any out-of-stock items or possible shortages.

Requirements

• At least two years of experience as a Line Cook, preferably at a hotel.
• Food Handler certification.
• Ability to perform physical work and pride in providing quality preparation and presentation of food to guests.
• Flexibility to work various shifts including days, evenings, and weekends.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Food Handler certification.

• Strong organizational skills.
• Ability to follow recipes and production standards.
• Physical stamina for kitchen duties.
