AM COOK ASSIST/SALAD - HOSPITAL

About the role

The AM Cook Assistant/Salad works with the cook to set up meal trays for patients. He/she prepares salads, salad bar, and desserts for patients, staff, and visitors. He/she puts away dishes, stocks items, and helps run the POS system in the cafeteria. He/she has responsibility for washing dishes, operating the dish machine, and doing assigned cleaning. He/she puts away dishes, stocks items, and helps in the cafeteria. May cross-train as a cook.

Responsibilities

• Prepares salads, salad bar, and desserts for patients, staff, and visitors.
• Washes dishes, operates the dish machine, and does assigned cleaning.
• Stocks items and helps run the POS system in the cafeteria.
• May cross-train to other shifts.

Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Must take a modified diet and sanitation course provided through the dietary department.

Qualifications

• Casual: 0-15 hours/week.
• Schedule: 6:00 am – 2:00 pm every other weekend and holiday and fill-in as needed.

Skills

• Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
• Basic computer skills to operate POS system.
