About the Role

The Buffet Attendant will maintain the quality of the guest experience by ensuring the buffet area is clean, including flatware and plates, and promptly wiping spills and spatters. They will also keep hot food stocked in a timely manner to avoid shortages and engage with guests to discuss food options and answer questions. Additional duties may be assigned by the manager.

This is a seasonal role from November 2026 to the end of April 2027. Housing may be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

About the Organization

The Grand Hyatt Deer Valley Hotel is located in the renowned Deer Valley ski resort, approximately 40 minutes from Salt Lake City International Airport. It is part of a new development featuring 17 ski lifts, ±1,600 residential units, 8 hotels with a total of ±1,350 rooms, ±250,000 square feet of conference and retail space, and one of the world’s largest “ski beaches.”

The Grand Hyatt Deer Valley includes 436 luxury accommodations (381 guest rooms and 55 residential units), 30,000 square feet of versatile indoor meeting space, a lobby-level 3-meal restaurant and bar, a signature bar, a pool/après ski bar and grill, a coffee bistro, a large outdoor event terrace, a pool with 3 whirlpools, a kids club, and a fitness area.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness of the buffet area, including flatware, plates, and wiping spills or spatters.
  • Ensure hot food is replenished promptly to avoid shortages.
  • Engage with guests to discuss food options and answer questions.
  • Complete additional duties as assigned by the manager.

Requirements

  • Refined verbal and written communication skills.
  • A commitment to exceeding guest expectations.
  • Availability to work weekends.
  • Current Alcohol Server Certification and/or food service permit as required by local or state government.
  • Food service or other relevant certifications as required.
