Alumni Relations Officer, Lifelong Learning (Enrichment Programs)

About the role

The Alumni Relations Officer will develop, plan, and execute alumni programs and events for alumni for Central Alumni Relations or a Development Office (DOFF) in Development and Alumni Relations for the Johns Hopkins Institutions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategies to engage alumni through events, programs, communications, and volunteer activities.
  • Implement strategic programs that foster relationships between alumni and JHU, and other students and alumni.
  • Lead the planning of medium to large-scale events and initiatives.
  • Serve as the point of contact for alumni volunteers and/or event speakers.
  • Lead programs and committees.
  • Prepare colleagues, faculty, staff, or alumni for participation in events.
  • Represent the DOFF and Johns Hopkins University at a variety of functions.
  • Identify, recruit, train, steward, and recognize alumni volunteers.
  • Engage alumni groups and organizations for support of efforts, potential programs, and collaboration opportunities.
  • Identify areas for growth and development.
  • Develop and implement strategies to ensure accurate alumni records and maintenance in the DAR CRM.
  • Analyze alumni data, generate reports, and provide recommendations.
  • Create, develop, and maintain relationships with alumni, donors, faculty, volunteers, guests, and colleagues.
  • Lead special projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Three years of related experience.
  • Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education beyond a high school diploma/graduation equivalent, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
  • Additional years of directly related development and alumni relations experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
  • Advanced degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in program development, partnership building, and project management.
  • Experience with graphic design platforms (e.g., Canva) and strong writing and copy-editing skills to develop clear, engaging promotional, catalog, and registration materials.
