About the role

This position serves as deputy leader in Alumni Relations, working closely with the Executive Director to plan, implement, and evaluate innovative programs. Key responsibilities include overseeing regional alumni chapters, building bridges between students and alumni, managing social media channels, and driving alumni engagement and fundraising.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as deputy leader in Alumni Relations to plan, implement, and evaluate innovative programs
  • Partner with the Executive Director on action plans, strategies, and budgets
  • Collaborate with Institutional Advancement staff and volunteers to ensure cohesive alumni engagement
  • Oversee regional alumni chapters with growth and stewardship
  • Develop targeted engagement for key groups and cultivate strong alumni relationships
  • Travel locally/regionally to support chapter events and programs
  • Build a bridge between students and alumni by connecting with student organizations, collaborating with USG/GSA on student–alumni interactions, and leading commencement planning
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director, events team, and Athletics on regional/chapter events, Athletics Hall of Fame, and recent graduate alumni activities
  • Lead data-driven engagement and fundraising through analytics, targeted lists, and compelling email content
  • Ensure precise CRM records of activities, events, and alumni interactions
  • Drive alumni volunteering and cultivation to build a pipeline of annual, major, and planned gift prospects for Hunter College

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; advanced degree preferred
  • Proven experience in alumni relations, event planning, or related field
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Proficiency in social media management, content creation, and digital email communications
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups and stakeholders
  • Experience with Raiser’s Edge/NXT preferred or similar CRM

Benefits

Salary commensurate with education and experience, within approved range is $122,201 to $136,546. CUNY's benefits contribute significantly to total compensation, supporting health and wellness, financial well-being, and professional development.
