Department: Extrusion | Reports to: Shift Facilitator with direction from the Team Captain
Schedule
1st Shift: Monday to Thursday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (40+ hours over 4 days). Friday and Saturday may be scheduled as needed.
Responsibilities
- Run the Extrusion Press, Saw, Stretcher, Forklift, or Overhead Crane
- Inspect parts and perform visual checks for surface defects
- Monitor and remove press scrap
- Monitor temperatures
- Read and understand a tape measure
- Assist other personnel and perform additional duties as directed by supervisor
- Inform the Supervisor of any equipment problems or other issues
- Work safely at all times, wearing all required Proper Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Maintain a clean, clutter-free workstation
- Participate in a collaborative environment
- Comply with safety policies and procedures
- Accept feedback from the Team Captain to ensure bundles meet safety standards
- Complete special projects and other duties as assigned
Work Environment / Physical Demands
- Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to handle tools or controls, and communicate
- Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Requires close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception, as well as the ability to adjust focus
- Works near moving mechanical parts in a loud environment without air conditioning
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must pass a skills-based test
- Prior experience running an Aluminum Extrusion Press
- Strong interpersonal skills; self-motivated and efficient
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to solve practical problems and handle variables
- Ability to interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Conscientious, diplomatic, and detail-oriented
- Must pass a company background check and drug screen
