About the role
The Managing Director, Alternatives Data Solutions, will lead a transformative effort to define, change, and implement data-centric solutions for the Alternatives Investment business unit, aiming to drive operational efficiencies through improved data design and management. This role will significantly contribute to shaping the future of Alternatives Data Solutions for clients and operations through analytics, data delivery, strategic data management, and innovative solutions.
Responsibilities
- Alternatives Data Strategy: Partner with functional heads across Accounting Operations, Business Unit CFO, Financial Planning and Analysis, Product, Global Delivery, and Technology teams to adapt and improve the operations, controls, and management of data across alternatives product types.
- Global Data Strategy and Collaboration: Continuously partner with key functional teams across Private Markets, Hedge, Custody, Middle Office, and registered product operations to better utilize data for addressing client requests/obligations, driving operational efficiencies, and generating management insights.
- Alternatives Data Solutions and Functional Support: Responsible for a run-the-bank program while leading the execution of a transformative program on data collection to develop new capabilities that drive business outcomes for State Street’s core business.
- Run the Bank: Own and improve existing controls and governance of production data and deliverables as part of day-to-day operations; lead deployment and adoption of new releases.
- Change the Bank: Support the program to establish, publish, and distribute new authoritative data sets on Alternatives products; establish future-state operating models with clear roles and responsibilities along the data supply chain; implement necessary controls and exception-handling processes.
- Additional Responsibilities:
- Champion the Data Strategy for Alternatives and align with the enterprise data strategy.
- Foster a collaborative culture promoting data-driven decision-making.
- Establish KPIs to measure the effectiveness of implemented solutions.
- Continuously monitor and optimize data processes for efficiency gains.
- Develop internal talent and resources.
Education & Preferred Qualifications
- 15+ years of experience in Data Design and Management, with demonstrated experience in data architecture design and governance within the finance industry.
- Core competency in Process Re-engineering, including hands-on experience in capturing, communicating, redesigning, and executing business processes.
- Team Leadership and Strategy Delivery: Strong experience in directly managing a solution delivery team, demonstrating leadership, management, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with a change and solution delivery mindset.
- Project Management Leadership: Project management experience to deliver a wide program of activities; ability to drive outcomes in a fast-paced environment while collaborating with other large programs and business priorities.
- Communication: Strong communication skills and executive presence with the ability to influence business and corporate function partners to execute against planned strategies and timelines; ability to translate complex data and process concepts into strategic terms to secure senior management buy-in.
- Collaboration: Ability to work across organizations and influence other groups to achieve common goals bank-wide.
- Analytical skills: Requires both qualitative and quantitative analytical skills.
Pay
$170,000 – $252,500 Annual. The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location, the applicable range could differ.
