About the Role
Under direct supervision of the Director, Alternative Programs, at single or multiple sites, using specialized techniques, provides instruction in identified social and academic areas which meet individual and group needs of students who have been unable to succeed in established elementary and high schools and/or continuation schools.
Responsibilities
- Provides specialized instruction in social and academic areas for students in alternative education settings
- Meets individual and group needs of students facing challenges in traditional school settings
- Emphasizes academic achievement and graduation success through small class sizes and individualized instruction
- Incorporates social-emotional learning and wraparound services such as mental health support, family engagement, and health resources
Requirements
- Valid California teaching credential or ability to secure one (intern teachers accepted)
- Position represented by the California Teachers Association (CTA)
