About the role
The Alternative Credit team at Blue Owl is seeking a Vice President to focus on Residential Credit within the broader Asset Based Finance strategy. This role plays a key role across the full investment lifecycle, including sourcing, underwriting, execution, and portfolio management of residential credit investments.
Responsibilities
- Underwrite new investment opportunities, coordinate deal execution, and support asset management of existing transactions
- Manage a deal team of 1-2 junior investment professionals to complete investment due diligence, create investment committee deliverables (including memos, models, and supplemental analysis), and oversee transaction closing process
- Develop and communicate views on prospective investments, as well as how macro trends will impact new opportunities and the existing portfolio
- Absorb and communicate with various constituencies including internal deal sponsors, counterparties, financing counterparties, and outside counsel
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with an outstanding record of academic excellence in a quantitative, finance, economics, engineering, or a related field; advanced degree or CFA is a plus
- 6-8 years of relevant experience primarily in structured finance with significant residential mortgage and housing-related experience
- Ideal candidate has 3+ years of buy-side investing experience with significant experience (i.e., multiple years across numerous transactions) in private markets; experience investing in or trading public securities is a plus
- Significant experience evaluating, underwriting, and monitoring transactions within the residential credit and housing sector. Experience investing in other consumer debt or commercial mortgages is a plus
- Leverage AI as a tool to drive efficiency
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with great attention to detail
- Strong quantitative and financial modeling (assets and liabilities) skills. Proficiency or fluency in a coding language (Python, SAS, R, VBA) is a plus
- Proficiency in INTEXcalc; proficiency in INTEX DealMaker is a plus
Pay
Base annual salary for this New York-based position is $175,000. Actual salaries may vary based on factors, such as skill, experience, and qualification for the role.
