Alternate Court Judge

About the role

The role involves presiding over municipal court cases, adjudicating disputes, and ensuring fair and just outcomes. The incumbent must possess strong legal knowledge and excellent interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Preside over municipal court cases
• Adjudicate disputes in accordance with applicable laws and regulations
• Ensure fairness and impartiality in all proceedings
• Conduct hearings and make rulings based on evidence presented
• Communicate effectively with parties involved and the public
• Prepare and file necessary legal documents
• Participate in continuing legal education programs

Requirements

• J.D. from an accredited law school
• Active license to practice law in the state
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant legal experience
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and professionally
• Strong organizational and time management skills

Qualifications

• Proven ability to manage caseload efficiently
• Experience with courtroom procedures and protocols
• Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Effective negotiation and conflict resolution skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality

Salary range: $X - $Y per year

Schedule

Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
