Job Summary

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) is a world leader in remotely piloted aircraft and tactical reconnaissance radars. They are seeking an ACSSO to join their corporate Industrial Security team. This role is located in Palmdale, CA.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Administer and coordinate all aspects of security activities in accordance with company policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal security regulations, directives, and manuals for safeguarding National Security Information.
  • Oversee incoming and outgoing DOD documents.
  • Prepare, review, and submit personnel security access requests.
  • Investigate and review all security violations, prepare reports, and recommend specific preventive and corrective action to be taken.
  • Act as security spokesperson to brief/debrief personnel.
  • Develop, implement, and manage Standard Operating Procedures and Automated Information Systems.
  • Respond to day-to-day security needs of the program staff.
  • Maintain the strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Responsible for observing all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the company.
  • Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
  • Serve as the focal point for receiving, processing, distributing, and controlling all classified documentation (hard copy and electronic media) entering or leaving the facility, including electronic data transfer.
  • Prepare, review and process personnel security clearance requests.
  • Implement visitor control procedures ensuring compliance with applicable policies.
  • Maintain receipt and dispatch, document control, personnel records, and combination records.
  • Implement and manage access control system for the company and/or assigned business unit classified areas.
  • Manage the annual inventory of accountable holdings in accordance with policies and procedures.

  • Set up Special Access Program Facilities in accordance with DoD Security and Industry Directives (physical security, facility security and access control, network and IT security, cryptography, personnel, etc.).
  • Other duties as assigned or required.

Qualifications

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related discipline and six or more years of professional classified security experience in a corporate or government environment.
  • May substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education.
  • Must have experience with DOD processes and procedures or an equivalent regulatory environment and/or military training.
  • Must have a complete understanding of the DoDM 5205.07 SAP Security Manual, 32 CFR Part 117 NISPOM Rule, ICD 705, and working knowledge of established policies, procedures, and practices for safeguarding National Security Information.
  • Must have experience with DOD processes and procedures or an equivalent regulatory environment and/or military training.
  • Must possess the ability to identify issues and develop solutions to a variety of problems.
  • Strong communication, computer, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Completion of Industrial Security Management, DCSA Certification, and COMSEC courses as well as access control database experience preferred but not required.
  • The ability to initiate and plan projects and analyze and interpret data.
  • The ability to produce appropriate clear, concise and detailed documentation.
  • Must be able to work independently and in a team.
  • Able to work extended hours and travel as required.
