About the role
A Float position available for an OT to work in an acute care setting. Previous charge experience is required.
Responsibilities
- Float between various units including Neuro, Cancer, Med Surg, ICU, Nephrology, and Cardiac.
- Assist with patient assessments, charting, and discharge planning.
- Provide therapy services to patients requiring modified equipment and adaptive devices.
- Work closely with interdisciplinary teams including physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services.
Requirements
- Previous charge experience: 1 year.
- Charting system experience: Cerner.
- Special procedures/unit details: Inpatient rehabilitation for qualifying diagnoses, including Neuro, Cancer, Med Surg, ICU, Nephrology, and Cardiac.
Qualifications
- BLS certification.
- NBCOT certification.
- Preferred Cerner experience.

Schedule
Shifts are 5x8-hour shifts (08:00-04:00), with weekend coverage varying from 1x month to more frequent depending on unit needs.

- Travel compliance and module requirements detailed.
- Minimum 1 year experience required; 3+ years for CPU; 2 years for MTs and LPNs; travel experience preferred; license required.
- Local rate applies for residents within 31-50 miles of the facility; travelers must be within 30 miles to be accepted.
- Any required rest-of-the-world (RTO) time must be minimal, especially around holidays.
- Managers will try to be flexible with scheduling.
- Modules are non-billable, up to 8 hours required, and are completed pre-start using HealthStream.
- Guaranteed hours: 91 contract weeks.
