About the Program
The eligible candidate will be hired as an employee and compensated while attending our CDL prep course. The Academy is a 3-day course providing the necessary information and training to qualify the employee to take the NYS CDL test. Upon successful completion of the class and passing the exam, the employee will begin new hire orientation and complete a road test. Once the road test is completed, the employee will be assigned full-time shifts. We’re hiring Access-A-Ride Drivers to respond to transportation requests and deliver high-quality care, treatment, and customer service to patients. Responsibilities
- Transport disabled passengers to and from their locations
- Provide door-to-door service for passengers
- Exercise special care and sensitivity for each passenger
Requirements
- Valid NYS Driver’s License
- Driving record in compliance with company policy
- Must be at least 21 years old
Benefits
- Higher rate of pay upon graduation for new-hire CDL Drivers: $23.11 per hour

Pay
$18.00 per hour during the CDL prep course; $23.11 per hour upon graduation and assignment as a full-time CDL driver.
Schedule
Afternoon shifts, 1:00 PM – 11:00 PM, 7 days a week, full-time. Weekend work required. Arverne location only.
