ALL SHIFTS Part Time Direct Care Staff (13-18 Girls Residential Program)

Job Summary

The Youth Care Advocate ensures professional, safe care in a secure environment, applying YMCA, DCF, and DEEC policies. They interact and counsel clients, maintaining a positive role model and fostering client self-worth.

Program/Department Responsibilities

• Closely monitor clients' daily activities and night routines, enforcing program rules and regulations.
• Plan and supervise activities during free time, such as games and discussions.
• Conduct thorough intake and discharge procedures, including paperwork and client belongings management.
• Complete required paperwork and documentation, such as log entries, incident reports, and security sheets.
• Prevent and manage crisis situations, using therapeutic crisis intervention skills and physical restraints if necessary.
• Attend and participate in required program meetings and professional trainings.
• Maintain required certifications and adhere to CARF standards.
• Work as part of a team, follow policies and procedures, and adhere to the YMCA, DCF, and DEEC policies.
• Assume PIC responsibilities as assigned and ensure emergency procedures are posted and followed.
• Provide professional and courteous telephone service when needed.

Requirements

• High school education or equivalent.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Ability to read and write cohesively for incident reporting.
• Completion of DEEC yearly requirements and OCY training programs.
