ALC Special Education Teacher

About the role

The Area Learning Center (ALC) is looking for a Special Education Teacher who truly wants to change lives. The ZED ALC focuses on student strengths, creative teaching and building strong relationships with students and families. This teacher would work with special education students in grades 6-12 at the ALC.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of special education students
• Ensure special education student needs are met per their Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
• Maintain all due process compliance including IEPs/evaluation reports
• Provide specialized instruction to qualifying students

Requirements

• Be licensed by MDE in a special education teaching area for grades 6-12 or working towards licensure at time of employment
