Role Overview

We are seeking a Data Governance Architect to design and operationalize a modern scalable data governance framework with a strong focus on data marketplace enablement and Alation implementation. This role drives enterprise-wide data discoverability, trust, and reuse while ensuring compliance and business value realization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define enterprise data governance framework policies, standards, and operating model

  • Architect and operationalize enterprise data marketplace

  • Lead end-to-end Alation implementation, cataloging lineage, glossary

  • Establish metadata lineage and data quality frameworks

  • Set up governance operating model council, stewardship workflows

  • Engage stakeholders including CDO, business, and risk teams

  • Integrate governance platform with cloud data and BI ecosystems

Required Skills

  • Experience: 10-15 years in Data Governance/Data Management

  • Expertise: Strong experience with Alation, mandatory; expertise in Snowflake, good to have; expertise in Databricks, Power BI, Tableau

  • Understanding: Strong understanding of data marketplace and data product concepts

  • Cloud Platforms: Experience with AWS, Azure

Key Deliverables

  • 6-12 months Governance framework rollout

  • Operational data marketplace Alation deployed across domains

  • Business glossary and metadata catalog established

  • Data certification workflows implemented

KPIs

  • Marketplace adoption rate

  • Active Alation users

  • Data reuse increase

  • Reduction in data discovery time

  • Improvement in data quality metrics

  • Reduction in duplicate datasets

Preferred Qualifications

  • DAMA-CDMP certification

  • Cloud certifications: AWS, Azure

  • Largescale enterprise data transformation programs experience

Variable Compensation: This position includes a bonus or variable payout component based on individual and organizational performance. Actual compensation within the range will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, performance, and internal equity.
