Job Responsibilities
- Installation of fire alarm systems in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings
- Service, troubleshooting, and maintenance of fire alarm systems and related equipment
- Oversee, direct, and delegate tasks to meet project deadlines and goals
- Accurately complete and process paperwork and electronic forms
- Conduct and coordinate system testing
- Ensure required certifications are up-to-date
- Instruct and train helpers, apprentices, and other personnel
- Manage daily work schedules and direct employee productivity
- Maintain inventory on company vehicles
- Perform other duties as assigned
Expectations
- Safety First: Complete JSAs, Toolbox Talks, Audit Forms, etc.; report incidents and accidents accurately; hold oneself accountable for safety initiatives; ensure proper driving and equipment maintenance
- Timeliness: Be punctual, attend meetings, submit paperwork on time, and support transition to electronic timesheets
- Customer Satisfaction: Respond to customer satisfaction surveys and improve based on feedback; maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Teamwork: Maintain positive interactions within the team, local office, and with other trades, customers, and project managers
- Professionalism: Communicate effectively and professionally; maintain a clean and safe work environment; comply with company safety practices
- Quality Control: Reduce the need for return trips and warranty work; provide high-quality work and customer satisfaction
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Forklift and scissor lift certification (preferred)
- State of Texas Fire Alarm License (required)
- NICET Level II Fire Alarm and/or NICET Level II Special Hazards (preferred)
- Knowledge of NFPA codes and standards
- Minimum of 2-4+ years of experience in fire alarm systems
Skills and Competencies
- Ability to take direction from upper management
- Accuracy in completing and maintaining paperwork
- Vehicle and tool maintenance according to company policy
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record
- Knowledge of NFPA, NEC, and local applicable codes
- Experience with powered hand tools, test equipment, multi-meter, digital analyzers, and commissioning devices
- Positive communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work overtime, out-of-town, or on-call as needed
