About the role

The Senior Ecologist will provide technical leadership and expertise in ecological assessments, habitat restoration projects, and environmental impact studies.

Responsibilities

• Lead ecological assessments and prepare reports for regulatory agencies
• Conduct habitat restoration projects and monitor their effectiveness
• Develop and implement environmental impact mitigation strategies
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure compliance with environmental regulations
• Provide training and mentorship to junior ecologists

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in ecology, environmental science, or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience
• Experience with regulatory compliance and environmental impact assessment processes
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation

Qualifications

• Knowledge of local, state, and federal environmental laws and regulations
• Experience with GIS software and data analysis tools
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
